We stayed at Amaca Bacalar for 3 nights and it was perfect for our nature getaway. The accommodations were stunning and eco-friendly, with beautiful views of the lagoon. The staff was incredibly helpful and easy to communicate with, providing us with great tips and organizing a fantastic sailboat tour. The room was exquisite, with large windows and a mosquito net to enjoy the sounds of the jungle at night. The bathroom was a highlight, with wooden walls and biodegradable toiletries. The location, though a bit outside of town, was exactly what we wanted, offering direct access to the lagoon and free use of kayaks and paddleboards.
Totally recommend this hotel.

The room at Amaca Bacalar was absolutely perfect for us! It had all the amenities we needed, like a fully equipped bathroom with a refreshing shower and free toiletries. Plus, having a balcony was such a treat, especially for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. The kitchenware and seating area also made us feel right at home. And let's not forget the beautiful garden view from our room - it was so pretty to wake up to!
Personally, I wasn't too thrilled with the stovetop in the suite. But hey, that's just my opinion and I understand that others may still find it useful.

I had an incredible stay at Amaca Bacalar in Bacalar. The lodge exceeded my expectations with its spacious and beautiful cabins. I was pleasantly surprised to find a small kitchen in my cabin, which allowed me to prepare my own meals. The highlight was definitely the stunning garden and direct access to the lagoon, where I enjoyed swimming and relaxing. It truly felt like a back-to-nature experience.
Although my cabin had a coolbox instead of a fridge, it was a minor inconvenience to have to bring my own ice. However, considering it is an eco lodge, I understand the reasoning behind it and it didn't detract from my overall experience.

The room itself is stunning, with beautiful views and a bathroom that is simply breathtaking. It truly is a slice of heaven, immersed in nature. The access to the lagoon with free kayaks and paddleboards is incredible, and the whole experience is one to remember. Being off the beaten track adds to the charm, with solar panels for power and a focus on recycling and being environmentally friendly. Beautiful views and cozy cabins with all the necessities. Warm welcome and orientation upon arrival. - Availability of Blanca and the staff when needed.
Extremely poorly maintained road leading to the cabins. It is in such terrible condition that it almost deterred me from driving my rental car over it.
